How can You Contribute to Save Little Hearts

Each time we think of giving something of ourselves to a cause that is beyond the domains of our everyday life, we often wonder how do we help? Does it need to be a donation to charity or can we help in some other way? And very often the more pressing issues of everyday life take over and we put this question aside to address at a later stage.

As Mother Teressa so beautifully mentions in her quote above, it is not the amount and the form we give in, but the intention behind the act of giving that helps create a big impact on someone’s life. Giving today, can take many forms and is not restricted to monetary donations only.

We at Genesis Foundation have over the years been able to build a strong community that shares our mission to Save Little Hearts. The different ways you can join our ever-growing community are:

• Donations: Financial contributions enable us to support the medical treatment of our children. Under the Indian Income Tax Act, 1961, 80G donation for NGO in India provides tax savings on charitable donations. This means that one can save upto 50% on the payable tax by helping a child receive a life altering congenital heart defect intervention. At Genesis Foundation, 100 % donations received from individuals are used towards the treatment of children with no allocation made towards administrative expenses.
• Volunteering: At the Foundation we believe in building a community that shares our commitment to give life a chance to lesser privileged children struggling to keep their heart beating. We have a lot of volunteers who work with us – some regularly and some for short durations. One can volunteer in helping us write, assist in events, help our communications team, meet children we support at the hospital – the list is endless.
• Support in Kind: We have been fortunate to have a team of supporters who have provided us with pro bono support – this means helping us with designing our marketing collaterals, providing us with equipment, making films for us and many such areas. Thus, it does not just have to be in the form of a donation to charity that one can support our mission to Save Little Hearts.
• Sponsor an Event: At Genesis Foundation we conduct multiple events to both build awareness about congenital heart defects and also raise funds to support a larger number of children. After a gap of 2 years due to the COVID pandemic, we are organising our annual music festival Kasauli Rhythms and Blues Music Festival at Baikunth Resort, Kasauli on April 18-20^th This Music Festival was conceived by our Founder Trustees in 2012 with a view to grow its community of donors and well-wishers. Using music as a participatory force the event bring together a diverse pool of artists to raise awareness and funds for our little hearts. • Power of 100+: Our payroll giving initiative, encourages employees from companies to voluntarily contribute a minimum of Rs 100 or more from their salaries each month. This programe helps us build a community of people who can help us and at the same time build a sustainable flow of funds for saving our children. • Giving Made Easy: This is our monthly donation programe that enables one to sign up for a systematic monthly donation for a tenure of one’s choice. The money is automatically debited from one’s account and donated to the Foundation.
• Organise a Fundraiser: If you would like to organise fundraiser for supporting the medical treatment of our children, then reach out to our team.

There are many ways you can be a part of our journey to Save Little Hearts. To avail of tax saving on charitable donations one can provide financial donations. We are registered under section 80G donation for NGO in India and issue an electronic receipt for your donation. In addition, there are many other ways that you can be a part of this beautiful change – a change that has given life a chance to thousands of children and put a smile back on the face of their parents.
