March 5, 2025 | Contributed by Rubiya Bano

Beats that echo through the hills so high,
Music and hope beneath the open sky.
Every tune brings a heart renewed,
Together we heal, with rhythm imbued!

Art has no language, yet it binds people beyond color, caste or nationality. Music has this special feature of healing your heart, mind and soul. And what can be better than having this music for a cause?

Exactly! Kasauli Rhythm and Blues Festival is back again to turn melodies into a mission, promising to fill your heart with love and make many hearts full again. This festival is not only the celebration of great music but also brings in a chance to contribute to a cause, to save little hearts who are suffering from Congenital Heart Defects. This festival aims to bring hope for these children!

Kasauli Rhythm and Blues Festival is a festival with a cause. It is an annual event held in the serene hills of Himachal Pradesh in the town of Kasauli. This music festival was conceived by Genesis Foundation, an NGO for child heart surgery, in 2012 with a view to growing its community of donors and well-wishers. Believing strongly that music is a positive and participatory force in the creation of change, the Foundation invites established and upcoming artists from India’s diverse pool of musical talent. They perform for our cause – to support critically ill and underprivileged children suffering from Heart Disorders. Music aficionados can contribute to the cause by simply doing what they love best – listening to music!

Every year the funds raised from the music festival are committed to funding critical and timely surgeries for children suffering from Congenital Heart Defects, giving underprivileged children a second chance to life.

Congenital Heart Defects are one of the leading birth defects in India. Roughly 200,000 children are annually born with this condition in India. These heart surgeries are not only critical but also expensive, leaving many families struggling to afford these surgeries leaving these children vulnerable and at risk. But Genesis Foundation, an NGO for child heart surgery, utilized all the funds raised from the music festival to fund these expensive surgeries at their partner hospitals where these children can get affordable and quality care.

So, every ticket purchased, every donation made, or any sponsorship helps Genesis Foundation in funding heart surgeries for these children. We have so far supported 4900+ children from the funds raised through this music festival and other such initiatives.

After an unavoidable short break due to COVID-19, the Kasauli Rhythm and Blues Festival is making a powerful comeback- bigger, better and with your support it can create a bigger impact than ever. So, block your calendars and book your tickets now to get yourself a seat at this melodious event. Scheduled for Easter weekend, April 18-19th, 2025, this year’s festival promises to be the most exciting yet, with bands and activities designed to entertain and inspire. Enjoy the vibe of Pop, Rock, Jazz and Bollywood music in the quintessential hill station of Kasauli. Let the music and support for the cause echo the oak and pine forests of Kasauli.

Join the movement, immerse yourself in the music and make a real difference because every beat brings us closer to a greater cause.
