Celebrating Our Doctors

June 30, 2023 | Contributed by Rahul Choudhary

We have never been fortunate to see God, but we have doctors in hospitals who we all have seen doing miracles and giving life to countless people. The savior working at the forefront to treat people, giving them a life, saving them from mortality deserves all our respect.

Our doctors are the Superheroes who have given life a chance to so many children.

They are the ones who give a child’s mother the hope that her child will survive, and she will watch him/her grow, creating precious memories that will last a lifetime.

This Doctor’s Day, we at Genesis Foundations extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the dedicated doctors who work tirelessly day and night to ensure that every child with a Congenital Heart Defect gets the treatment they need.

We know many doctors who have chosen this profession selflessly to make a difference. Congenital heart defects warriors who have got a new life have always been thankful for their unwavering support. They put forth immense effort to ensure that every child who comes to them with a congenital heart defect receives excellent treatment and returns well. In the case of our children who come from families who cannot afford the treatment, our doctors extend themselves even to help raise donation for heart surgery and explain the treatment in detail to the parents. For these families the doctor IS their GOD.

Impact we have made with Doctor’s Collective Effort

With the help and support of our doctors, we have been able to treat more than 4200 kids so far. It was not possible to give life a chance to these children without their support. We are continuously expanding our partnerships with hospitals across the country to ensure that our support extends to even those children for whom healthcare accessibility is a privilege.

We hear countless stories of treated children who have finally resumed their education, attending school with new hope and opportunities. We hear stories of parents who have been able to return to their work and focus on what they need to do knowing that their child is safe and growing well.

Meet this little girl, a CHD warrior who has conquered congenital heart defects like a champion.

used to get breathless and was unable to run, climb or play.  Post her treatment, she is developing well and has now resumed going to school. This is just one story of a kid who got to aspire to her dreams. There are many such stories to narrate.

While the life-saving surgery gives life to these children, it also eases the burden of their parents who lose hope of seeing their children back in normal condition.

When interacting with the families, we came to know how badly their day-to-day life was impacted when they discovered their children’s disease.

They would neither be able to focus on their work nor find joy in smiling, as witnessing their child in pain would rob them of their happiness. Their life became nothing but a constant state of sadness. It was our doctors because of whom those parents got their smile back on their faces when their child was treated well. With support from our donors and CSR partners who help us with the donation for heart surgery and the skilled hands of our doctors, we were able to put a smile on their faces.

Our collaborative approach of organizing a screening camp, raising awareness about CHD, detecting children in need of intervention and much more have always been a big success – all because of the doctor’s support.

The effort they put into explaining the critical nature of the problem to the parents and the necessary medication and care the child needs helps raise awareness. They sometimes go beyond their capabilities to extend help to families in need, connecting them with NGOs like ours to help fund the required surgeries.

The Step Forward

We sincerely thank you for helping us achieve a remarkable 98% success rate in giving a new life to children diagnosed with CHD who were suffering from unbearable pain and on the verge of despair.

We are on a mission to extend our support to each underprivileged child born with a congenital heart defect. We will continue to work towards raising awareness about congenital heart defects and provide support to more children and families in need.

In collaboration with our hospital partners, we will organize a series of screening camps across various cities, aiming to identify congenital heart defects and provide necessary medical treatment for underprivileged children this year.

We would like to urge each one of you to come together with us and support us in our mission to save little hearts. To support the cause, you can donate to us.
