I always wanted to work in an environment where I would not only grow professionally but as a person also. Working for a children\u2019s heart foundation, teaches me what Humanity is and how it feels to live for a cause.\u00a0 After devoting eight years of my life to the corporate sector I finally found something which is giving me an opportunity to rise by lifting others.<\/p>\n<p class=\"img-float-left max-width-desktop-300 mobile-width\" style=\"text-align: center; max-width: 375px;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"img-responsive aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.genesis-foundation.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/pilars.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><u>\u201cKirat karo; Vand Chakko; Naam Japo\u201d- Work, Give and <\/u><\/strong><strong><u>Pray: the way to live<\/u><\/strong><em>\u201c Showing love and respect by helping others shows love for Waheguru ji (the almighty).\u201d<\/em> These were the words my grandmother used to explain to me the concept of giving when I asked her about the monthly donations, she used to make to an NGO supporting blind and deaf people. That time I never thought that I will be working with an NGO for heart treatment in India.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Living with honesty, praying to God, and sharing what you have with the needy are the core values on which Sikhism is built and this was the only way of living that my family taught me. I grew up in a family where I was always taught the importance of addressing social concerns and doing our bit to combat them.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I am grateful to the almighty to have blessed me with a job that is completely resonating with the values that were inculcated in me by my parents.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><u>My journey<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"img-float-right max-width-desktop-300 mobile-width\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"img-responsive aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.genesis-foundation.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/My-journey.jpg\" \/><i style=\"font-size: 13px;\">Agastya-my baby; my guru<\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0It has always been my dream to be a part of something through which I can be a reason behind someone\u2019s happiness. Genesis Foundation is like a dream come true. But my association with the Foundation started way back in 2018 when I joined Genesis BCW as an ALP (Associate to Associate Learning Programme). Being an ALP, I got an opportunity to work with Ms. Prema Sagar which eventually got me to work for the Foundation. It was then that I got introduced to a world where nothing is more important than pure feelings. My tenure as an ALP with the children\u2019s heart foundation wasn\u2019t long but the learnings and the love, I got from every team member stayed with me forever.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I always knew that someday I will be coming back here and would embrace myself with their love again. But before that, I had my own path to walk on. I served Genesis BCW for 2 years and then I took a sabbatical in 2020 to deal with my health issues. During the pandemic, I was blessed with a beautiful baby boy-Agastya. My son taught me what true love is and at the same time, I realised that when you became a mother, you are no longer the center of your own universe. You relinquish that position to your children.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">With this another reality hit me hard; no employer was interested to offer a job to a new mother. It was very disheartening for me. But seeing my son standing after every fall, made me to be persistent with my search.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.genesis-foundation.net\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"img-float-left max-width-desktop-300 mobile-width\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"img-responsive aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.genesis-foundation.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/logo-gf.png\" \/><i style=\"font-size: 13px;\">Back to Genesis Foundation<\/i><\/p>\n<p><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It finally happened to me after 2 years of giving birth to Agastya that I am here working for the Foundation again. Working for an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.genesis-foundation.net\/\">NGO for heart treatment in India<\/a> gives me the opportunity<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">to narrate the power packed stories of the kids suffering from congenital heart defects. The Genesis Foundation team believed in me and embraced me with an opportunity to kickstart my career again.
