Devansh Subhash Jagtap, is a quiet boy who is very attached to his mother Damini, and never refrains from showing her love.<\/p>\n

Damini lost her husband as he was ill a few years ago which has inevitably been very tough for her. Luckily, she has support from her brother-in-law as they live in a joined family. He is a farmer earning Rs 6000 per month and struggles to make ends meet but feels responsibility for his brother\u2019s wife and children which is beyond admirable.<\/p>\n

Little Devansh was born with a congenital heart defect and Holt Oram Syndrome. In Holt Oram syndrome both the forearms do not develop properly. The heart disorder he suffers from is an atrial septal defect, which is a hole in between the upper chambers of the heart. The family took him to a local physician when they noticed the child was having breathing difficulty. The doctor referred them to Jupiter Hospital where an Echo was conducted. The hospital partners with children heart foundation\u2019s like ours to help families who struggle with money.<\/p>\n

The diagnosis was confirmed, he required an open-heart surgery urgently.<\/p>\n

All Damini wanted is for her son to be okay. She has borne a lot of heart ache, and seeing her little boy suffer has amplified her fear. Her brother-in-law had helped arrange Rs 15,000 towards the surgery but they required Rs 1 Lakh. They didn\u2019t even know that a\u00a0children\u2019s healthcare foundation<\/a>\u00a0like ours existed. When they learnt about us, they felt relief and hope that maybe finding help would be possible after all. We committed to the case and with support from our donor Hitesh Gajaria, we were able to give the family relief and hope in the fact that every child deserves to live, regardless of where they come from or how entitled they are.<\/p>\n

The surgery took place and Devansh withstood the procedure well. He was weaned off the ventilator the following day, and within two days he was shifted out of the ICU. Discharged within six days, both mother and uncle are very happy that he is doing well and the worst is behind them.
