Heart
Nidhi, a 7 month old baby from Bihar, was brought to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in July 2005, as she was seriously ill and was diagnosed as suffering from arterial septal defect with patent ductus aerteriosus. Immediate surgical intervention was required for closure of PDA. The parents could loose their child if the operation was not undertaken immediately.
Sir Ganga Ram Hospital through its charitable wing provided free bed, theatre and doctors services. However the consumables for the operation like sutures etc were required to be purchased by the family who could not afford this cost. The hospital approached the Foundation for financial assistance of Rs.20,000 which was immediately given. The operation was a success and Nidhi is today leading a normal life fully recovered.

Dheeraj Kumar Kashyab a two year old boy, an only child of Sheila and Ramchander, suffered from a cancer of the left eye called Retro Blastoma. The child lost total vision in this eye.
His father Ramchander is a farmer who rents 3 bigga of land from a landlord in U.P. He has to hand over half the produce of the crop he yields, as rent. He can just about make enough to feed his family. When the child was one year old they discovered the gradual deterioration of his left eye. With help from relatives they took the child to a hospital in Nepal. Here they were advised that the problem was serious and needed specialized treatment. In Nov 2004 they were referred to AIIMS.
Genesis Foundation took on this case and supported this underprivileged family medically and financially through their ordeal. The treatment involved an extensive course of chemotherapy. The total cost of treatment was Rs. 5445.
Manisha Singh was suffering from Acute Myeloid Leukemina. Her first session of chemotherapy started in January 2005 and she had to go under six chemotherapy sessions. As her cancer had been detected in the early stages and treatment started immediately, there was a very good chance of survival. By this time the family had depleted all finances/resources and was looking desperately for help.
Her father was at that time a 3 wheeler scooter driver and was barley making enough money for the whole family (5 members) to live on. So we got involved a second time to save Manisha’s life. In August 2006 she finally got her lifesaving bone marrow transplant and is now doing very well.

On March 22, 2005 Geeta was released from AIIMS after being hospitalized for over 2 months. Her infections and Phenomena were under control and she returned to Nepal. We received a message from her relative Mr. Tiwari that she passed away on 28, April 2005 in Nepal.

CanSupport has managed as a special case to get him a free bed in the AIIMS dharamshala for another month. GF has contributed Rs. 5702 towards medical bills.
Karishma Singh was born with her left eye closed. The family not being educated hoped that the deformity she suffered was temporary. She underwent her first surgery at the Apollo Hospital under Dr. Shahin Nooreyezdin, who performed two surgeries in a span of 10 days and free of cost.
