Adiba Belal a 5 year old girl suffers from Scoliosis and needs corrective Spinal Surgery. The cost of her surgery at AIIMS is estimated at Rs.1,53,300/-. Adiba’s father works in a small general store and earns Rs.3,000/- per month and cannot afford the cost of this surgery. GF will help by contributing Rs.85,000/- towards her treatment.  

Roma is 7 years old and needs to undergo open heart surgery as she is suffering from a cardiac disorder. The cost of surgery at Fortis Escorts Heart Institute is Rs.1,60,000/-. Roma’s family is from Rohtak and her father works as a driver and earns Rs.4000/- per month. The family has managed to collect Rs.65,000/- after taking loans from relatives and friends. They require an additional Rs.95,000/- which Genesis Foundation is committed to support.

Ashwani is 12 years old and has undergone Renal Transplant in December 2008. His father passed away and his sister who is a school teacher earns Rs.4,500/- per month, she was in fact her brother’s donor. Post his surgery Ashwani has started going to school, however he will need to take his medicines lifelong (immune suppressants). The dosage may vary over time. The cost of the medicines he requires on a monthly basis is Rs.8,000/-. Genesis Foundation will fund this expense for 6 months and will review the case post this period. A six month cycle cost of medicines is Rs. 48,000/-

Sashi is a 13 year old in need of heart surgery to correct congenital heart defect. The child is an orphan who has just been moved from a home in Indore to Gwalior. Shashi will be operated on at Fortis Escorts Heart Institute. The estimated cost of surgery is Rs.1,05,000/- .Being a deserving case Genesis Foundation will help by contributing Rs.70,000/- towards cost of surgery which is the amount the orphanage is falling short of.

Karan Diwakar at 13 years of age has been diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia – Cancer. Karan is one of 3 children; he is an intelligent student and studies in class VI at Sarvoday Bal Vidyalay, Pahargunj, Delhi. His father a fruit vendor earns approximately Rs.5,000/- per month and cannot afford to undertake the cost of Karan’s chemo therapy treatment at AIIMS. The estimated cost of his treatment over a period of 2/3 years will be Rs.2,50,000/-.Karan has just undergone the first cycle of chemo therapy in early November and is responding well to the treatment. Genesis Foundation will support Karan’s treatment.

Mandeep at 10 years has been diagnosed with a heart disorder. He needs to undergo Angiograph and Tetralogy of Fallot correction (multiple holes in the heart).Mandeep’s father is a vegetable vendor in Jind, Haryana. The cost of his treatment at Max Devki Devi Heart Institute, Saket is Rs.1,60,000/-. The family has been able to collect only Rs.30,000/- for his surgery and are looking for financial support which support has been extended by GF.

Ishant is a 3 year old who has been admitted at the Thalassaemia unit in St Stephen’s hospital for periodic transfusions. He has been diagnosed with Thalassemia Major and the doctors at Sir Gangaram Hospital have advised that he requires Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT). It will be an unrelated blood cord transplant as Ishant is an orphan; luckily the doctors have found a match. Ishant is awaiting the procedure which costs around Rs 17 lakhs. The home has approached various organisations for support as the amount required is very high. Genesis Foundation will contribute Rs.2,00,000/- towards Ishant’s treatment.

Stuti & Aradhana, conjoined twins, were born on July 02, 2011 at Padhar Hospital. The parents come from a village, Chhuriya which is about 40 kms from Padhar and belong to the Gawli tribe, they are farmers and have a meager monthly income of Rs. 4000/-.The children were abandoned at birth and were taken under the care of Padhar hospital and given NICU care.

They are thoracophagus – with separate upper and lower limbs.  At 6-7 weeks of age they were investigated at Nagpur, where ECHO and MRI were done, which showed that the heart and lungs are separate, there is no sternum, the pericardium is shared and the liver is fused in the midline. Presently they are 5 months old and are growing well.Since no vital organs are shared, surgical separation of these twins seems feasible. Two teams of doctors – from India and abroad, will perform the surgery at Padhar Hospital in April 2012. The cost of this surgery is estimated at close to Rs. 10,00,000/- and will take 6-8 hours.  Genesis Foundation has pledged support of  Rs.2,00,000 lakhs towards this cost of surgery.

Deformity:

Rahul is a 12 year old who suffers from a congenital disorder ‘Scoliosis’ (mal-developed spine segments) and requires undergoing surgery through ’Spinal Fixation System’. Rahul is an only child. As he is growing in age the curvature of his spine is increasing and this will hamper growth of vital organs if corrective surgery is not undertaken soon. His father is a dhobi who earns Rs.3,500/- per month. The family had applied to the Health Minister’s Discretionary Fund and have been granted Rs.50,000/- towards his surgery. The cost of surgery at AIMMS is Rs.1,15,000/-. The balance amount of Rs.65,500/- will be contributed by Genesis Foundation.  The date of surgery is awaited.

 Heart:

Deepak aged 10 years is suffering from a cyanotic congenital heart disease which requires cardiac catheterization followed by open heart surgery. The family comes from Faridabad and Deepak’s father is a labourer who earns Rs.2,500/- per month. The cost of surgery is Rs. 2,00,000/-. They have managed to collect 50% of the surgery cost, Genesis Foundation will contribute the balance amount of Rs.1,00,000/-

Aman is 9 years old and suffers from a cardiac disorder- hole in the heart (TOF).  Aman’s father is a daily wage earner and the cost of surgery is beyond their means as he earns a meager income of Rs.1,800/- per month. The cost of surgery at AIIMS is Rs.55,000/- . Genesis Foundation will support this child’s treatment.

Tarun an 11 month old baby needs immediate surgery for VSD closure. Tarun’s father is a daily wage earner and has managed to take a loan. The cost of surgery is Rs.1,50,000/-they are falling short of Rs.1,00,000/- which will be contributed by Genesis Foundation. As this case was urgent the surgery took place in August. The operation was successful and the child was discharged.

This 10 day old baby had not yet been named at the time of surgery. He had to undergo emergency surgery at Medanta Medicity in the first week of August 2011.  The baby was suffering from complex CHD. The approximate cost of surgery was Rs.2,50,000/-. The family is from Srinagar and the parents had arranged some amount of their own. The father is a small shop owner and brings home Rs.4000/- per month. Genesis Foundation has contributed Rs.80,000/- for this baby’s surgery. Devyansh a 2 year old boy is suffering from a congenital heart disorder and needs to undergo B.T. Shunt procedure. He is one of three siblings and the family comes from Agra. The father is a labourer and cannot afford the cost of surgery. The child’s condition was diagnosed at a heart camp held by Max Foundation in Agra. The cost of his surgery is Rs. 1,20,000/- and will take place at the Max Devki Devi Heart Institute, Saket. GF will support this cost

Cancer:

Vipin Kumar is 9 years old and has been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. He is presently being treated at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, Delhi. Vipin loves going to school and is a class 11 student. Vipin’s father works as a domestic help and earns Rs.4,800/- per month.Vipin is currently undergoing his second chemo cycle and has responded well to the treatment. The doctors are hopeful that the Vipin will be able to lead a normal life soon. Genesis Foundation is supporting Vipin’s chemotherapy treatment, each session costs approximately Rs.20,000/-. The medical team will review his treatment after he completes 4 cycles of chemo. GF will continue to support his treatment till recovery.

Thalassemia:

Srieshti Mithwani a 10 year old has been diagnosed Thalassemia Major. Srieshti needs to undergo Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) at CMC Vellore. They are awaiting a date for her transplant. Her father runs a small business and earns Rs.3000/- per month. The estimate cost of BMT is Rs.120,000/-Genesis Foundation will be contribute Rs.100,000/- towards cost of treatment.

Organ transplant:

Gaurav has undergone renal transplant in 2009 he is now 12 years old and  is currently on triple drug immunosuppression which includes Pangraf, Cellcept and Wyslone. He needs to take these medicines lifelong though the dosage may change. The cost of medicines presently is Rs.8000/- per month. Gaurav’s father works in a tailoring unit in Panipat and earns Rs.5000/- per month. This case has been referred to us by a partner NGO. Genesis Foundation has been supporting this child since April 2011 and will bear the cost of Gaurav’s medicines for a period of12 months (approx. Rs.96,000/-.) His case will be reviewed at the end of this period and further support will be extended as required.

 Thalassemia :

Priyansh Kotak is an 8 year old student of class 4 in Kendriya Vidyalay.  He was diagnosed with Thalassemia Major when he was just 6 months old and has been on regular blood transfusions and painful and expensive iron chelation treatment ever since. Fortunately, his brother is HLA matched with him and is able to donate his Bone Marrow for Priyansh.  

The cost of the Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) at CMC Hospital, Vellore is approx. Rs.10,00,000/-. Priyansh’s father, Ashit Kotak, works as a Laboratory Assistant at Gujarat Ayurveda University, Jamnagar and is unable to bear the total cost of the BMT, which will give his son, a chance to live a normal life. The procedure has been scheduled for end June 2011. GF has committed support of Rs.1,00,000 towards his treatment.

Extreme Deformity:

Ashwani Raj is a 14 year old suffering from Scoliosis since birth. He needs to undergo spinal surgery with implants to correct the curvature of spine at the earliest. The family can contribute only Rs.20,000/- towards the surgery cost of Rs.1,50,000/-. Ashwani’s father works in a factory in Bihar and earns Rs.4,500/- per month.  Genesis Foundation will support his surgery by paying the balance amount of Rs.1,30,000/- He will be undergoing surgery & treatment at the Indian Spinal Injuries Centre. Cardiac Disorder:

Mannat is a 4 year old who needs to undergo open heart surgery as he suffers from a cardiac disorder (hole in the heart). The family is from Agra and his father is an agricultural labourer and falls below the poverty line. The cost of surgery is Rs.1,50,000/-. They are falling short of Rs.80,000/- which will be paid by Genesis Foundation. The surgery will take place at Max Heart Institute, Saket.  
 
Two month old baby Inderpreet Singh has multiple problems – congenital heart disease and a cleft lip. He needs urgent BT shunt surgery for the heart disorder which will be followed by corrective surgery for his cleft lip at the Max Heart Institute, Saket.

The cost of surgery is Rs.1,50,000/-. The baby’s father works in a machine tools factory .The family and doctors have managed to collect some funds, however are falling short of Rs.40,000/- Genesis Foundation was approached by the hospital for financial support for the balance amount.

Shubankar is 14 years old and has been diagnosed with Severe Mitral Regurgitation. He needs to undergo Valve Replacement surgery. The cost of surgery at Pushpanjali, Ghaziabad is Rs.1,78,000/-.

The family’s income comes from his mother who works in a school and his brother who is 16 years old and works in a temple doing odd jobs. The family’s total monthly income is Rs.2,000/-. GF will contribute Rs.1,20,000/- towards cost of his surgery .

Manjita an 11 year old needs open heart surgery at AIIMS to correct a congenital heart defect. The child is an orphan and has been adopted by her uncle after her parent’s death. The cost of surgery at AIMMS is Rs.50,000/-. They have been able to get 50% of this amount from the Prime Minister’s relief fund and are in need of the balance money. Genesis Foundation will contribute the balance Rs.25,000/-

Cancer:

Little Rajini is an 11 month old girl who has been diagnosed with cancer – Juvenile Myelomonocytic Leukemia (JMML).  The only curative option for this illness is Stem Cell transplant. She is lucky to have a sister who is a match. Ragin’s father is a farmer and is under the poverty line and cannot afford the cost of his daughter’s treatment.

She has been receiving treatment at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital for the last 4 months in the general ward category, free of cost. The Stem Cell Transplant is estimated at Rs. 4,00,000 to Rs.6,00,000/-. Genesis Foundation will contribute Rs.1,20,000/- towards cost of her transplant.

Proceeds from the 2nd CEOs Sing for their Supper fundraiser will give these 7 children a chance to live

Heart:

Govind is a 13 year old who suffers from a congenital heart ailment. Govind’s father works as sales assistant in a cloth shop and earns Rs.4, 700/- per month. Govind is one of 5 children. 

Shreya is 10 months old and has a hole in the heart. Shreya is the only child and her father runs a tea stall and earns approximately Rs.4, 000/- per month.

Both families are from Madhya Pradesh and the children’s condition was diagnosed during a screening camp by the local NGO. The cost of their surgery has been estimated at Rs.1,40,000 /- per child. GF will support both surgeries.

Babul a 15 year old needs to undergo valve repair/replacement surgery at the earliest. His father Shanker Lal is a laborer and earns as little as Rs.1,800 per month and has 5 children. The cost of surgery is Rs.150, 000/- and the family is unable to find the finance for Babul’s surgery. Genesis Foundation (GF) will take up Babul’s case which will be undertaken next month. 

Guddia is 15 years old and has to undergo ASD closure + mitral valve repair surgery. The family is from Agra and Guddia’s father is a casual laborer who earns earning Rs.2,000/- per month. Guddia was having severe breathing problem and was identified with a heart condition and advised to come to Delhi for surgery. This  surgery will cost over  Rs.1,50, 000/- which being below poverty level they cannot afford and have approached GF for support.    

 Organ Failure:

Aliya suffers from a chronic Renal Failure and her liver has also started to fail. She is undergoing treatment at Kalawati Hospital.  Aliya has to take medication life long and currently is being given Erytropoicelin 2000 Us/c injections 5 times a month. The cost of medicines for her treatment is Rs.4,120/- per month. Genesis Foundation will contribute Rs.50,000 towards cost of medicines for a year. The family is from Delhi and Aliya’s father Master Shakir is a tailor at Nizamuddin Basti, New Delhi. 

Om Prakash suffers from kidney failure; his mother will donate her kidney for her 15 year old son who is awaiting Kidney Transplant at Sir Gangarm Hospital, New Delhi. The cost of this transplant is Rs.4, 30,000/- . The hospital will waive an amount of Rs.2,00, 000/- . Om Prakash’s father is a casual laborer and has managed to collect Rs. 1,00,000/- towards his son’s surgery. The balance amount of Rs.1,30, 000/- will be contributed by Genesis Foundation.   

Thalassemia

Suresh is a 5 year old boy, one of two children born to Harish & Nita Kumar Sawlani. The child is presently in nursery school and loves to play with toys and watch cartoons.He was diagnosed a Thalassemic Major when he was just four months old, since then he has been going through regular blood transfusions and iron chelation therapy for his survival.

Suresh has a chance to recovery as Kunal; his brother is able to donate his bone marrow. The Bone Marrow transplant has been scheduled at the Christian Medical College, Vellore. The cost of this is estimated at Rs. 12,00,000/-. Suresh’s father is a small time worker and is unable to bear the total cost of treatment. The BMT has been scheduled for 01 May 2011. GF will contribute Rs.2,00,000 towards his treatment.
