Naitik Sharma, 14 months, was diagnosed as a Thalassemia Major when he was just 9 months old. He has undergone blood transfusions every 15 days since then. Naitik’s father works in a small shop repairing computers and earns approx Rs. 5000- p.m. The doctors have recommended Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT). Fortunately for him Garvit, his 5-year-old sibling is a perfect match for the BMT. This surgery has been confirmed for end-August 2010. The estimated cost of transplant is Rs. 10,00,000.

Ansh, 4 yrs, suffers from Retinoblastoma (cancer of the eye). He underwent surgery for removal of his eye on August 23, 2010. Later this month a second surgery will provide him a glass eye that will help him look like a normal child once again. The expenditure incurred so far has been Rs. 25,000. Genesis Foundation will continue to support the chemotherapy sessions, which he will require over the next few years. The additional estimated cost per year is Rs.100,000.

Vinod Narayan, 16 yrs, suffers from a Neuromuscular Kypho Scoliosis deformity. He is studying in class VIII and is very keen to lead as normal a life as possible. Vinod’s father is a labourer at a construction site and earns Rs. 2,500 p.m. and he has 2 other children to support. Vinod has already undergone 2 corrective surgeries and is now due for his third surgery of post stabilization at 3 levels of C-splint C4-5 corpectomy and instrumentation. The cost of surgery is Rs.1,50,000.

Sumit, 4 years, has a congenital heart disease (hole in the heart) with severe breathing problems and will need to undergo open heart surgery at AIIMS costing Rs.60,000 if his life is to be saved. His father is a daily wage labourer.

He has been under going regular blood transfusions once every 15 days and is soon to start the painful iron chelation treatment.The doctors have advised bone marrow transplant, which fortunately is possible as his 5 year old sibling Garvit is a perfect match.  Naitik’s father works in a small shop repairing computers and earns Rs. 5000/- per month. The little boy has just started walking and has learnt to say Namaste to everyone he meets. His BMT has been fixed for end September 2010 at Gangaram Hospital. The estimated cost of transplant is Rs. 10,00,000/-. Genesis foundation will contribute Rs.2,00,000 towards his BMT.

Mehek is a 9 year old who is a Thalassemia Major and requires undergoing Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT). Her father runs a small shop and earns as little as Rs.5000/- per month. She has 3 other siblings. The cost of BMT at CMC, Vellore is estimated at Rs.12.00,000. The family has managed to collect Rs.8,00,000/-and are in need of the balance Rs.4,00,000 which is required for the surgery that will save her life. Genesis Foundation has collected Rs. 2,00,000 for her BMT, which is scheduled for January 2011.

Shruti is 12 year old orphan who suffers from severe scoliosis (twisted spine) and urgently needs corrective spinal surgery. GF has been involved with her treatment since 2001. She has already undergone 2 surgeries and it is now time for her next surgery at the Indian Spinal Injuries Centre. The surgery is estimated at Rs. 2,25,000/- .Surgery has been postponed till the end of the year.

Aman is a 5 year old having a hole in the heart (TAG-VSD) and needs to undergo his second open heart surgery. Aman’s father is a taxi driver and earns Rs.4000/- per month. He had his first surgery(S/P BT Shunt), when he was less than a year old. Surgery cost is Rs. 1,20,000/- at Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals. His surgery is scheduled for September 2010.

Pappu an 8 year old has a cardiac disorder (TOF) he will need to undergo open heart surgery. This surgery will ensure that Pappu is able to lead a normal life. His father is a sweeper and lacks the finances required for this operation which is Rs.1,40,000/-

Madhav Sharma at the age of 5 year was diagnosed as suffering from Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (cancer). His father is a daily wage earner and cannot afford the cost of treatment required. Little Madhav will require to undergo 6 sessions of chemotherapy  over a period of a year, costing Rs.1,00,000/- which will be supported by Genesis Foundation

Manas Mishra is 6 yrs old and is suffering from Congenital Heart Disease and needs to undergo surgery, ASD with conduits, cost of which is Rs.1,25,000 at AIIMS. The child’s father is a labourer earning Rs.100 per day and earns only Rs.1,500 a month. They are from Kanpur and have come to AIIMS for treatment. The cost of surgery is beyond their means.  The family has approached Genesis Foundation for help and we are taking up the case.The  surgery was postponed due to infection in the chest and is scheduled for end September.
