7 year old Lucky suffered from TOF -a congenital heart defect, needing open heart surgery. The cost of surgery was Rs.1,65,000/- at Medanta Medicity and the family managed to collect Rs.80,000/- only. Lucky’s father works as a help in a garment factory in Bhilwada, Rajasthan earning Rs.2,500/- a month.They sold their house and took help from friends to get funds for the surgery. Lucky is their only child and the parents had been trying to get treatment for their son since the last 4 years.
The doctors of the hospital got in touch with Genesis Foundation as the child needed immediate surgery. The balance of Rs.85,000/- was contributed by the foundation.
Lucky was operated on 18th March 2010. He is responding well to post op medicines and is on his way to recovery.
